vegan brekkie

There’s nothing better than waking up knowing it’s time to eat, again. It’s like leaving your night dream for another one but this time is reality. I can’t choose wether I have a favorite time of the day or not, ’cause each part of it has its own magic. But, if I have to make it food-related (which I always do ’cause food is life) I’d admit breakfast has a special place in my heart.

I started this blog without a specific subject and the truth is, that’s exactly the way I want it to stay. There’s nothing wrong with mixing things up, we don’t always have to know where we are going, we just gotta keep going. I knew this moment would come and here I am, about to share a post on my first “meal ideas” ——-

It had to start with a smoothie, all the good things in life come with a smoothie by side. I’m kidding, but really, they are always a good idea. Fast, easy, nourishing and tasty. There are way too many smoothie recipes but here’s one I’ve been doing lately ’cause I’m at the beach and I’m feeling… tropical.

——— Tropical Green Magic ——–
(1 serving – 2 small servings)

  • 2-3 frozen bananas
  •  1 cup of spinach
  • 1 T of matcha
  • 1 cup of mylk
  • 1/2 – 1 cup of frozen mango

———– Nicecream with bomb toppings ———–
(1 serving, or maybe 2 if you are feeling “generous”)

  • 2-3 frozen bananas

Well that’s basically it. you just blend it with mylk (optional) depending on how frozen your bananas are. And the thing about nicecream is that there’s infinite possibilities, you can add almost anything like fresh fruit, nuts, nut butters, powders, chocolate, grains, etc. That’s exactly why I think toppings matter. (Plain banana nicecream is always good too). In this occasion I used dark chocolate chunks and matcha powder.
*** I am obsessed with matcha, I could mix it all day.

Another breakfast I truly enjoy is cereal, plain cereal with mylk topped with fresh or frozen fruit.

——- My favorite way to have cereal  ——

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
  • About 1/2 cup of cereal
  • 1 cup of mylk

*** I love adding dark chocolate too.

I have many different breakfasts and I’m always changing things up, but I try to have fruit everyday. (even if it’s a little bit)

What’s your favorite food to start your morning with?
